Officially re-opened
October 2, 2026: A new investment and development phase begins.
Stephenville International Airport officially re-opened on October 2, 2026, positioned as a strategic infrastructure platform for aviation, defence and security, logistics, industrial development and regional economic growth.
A strategically positioned infrastructure platform in Atlantic Canada.
A 10,000-foot runway built for the largest aircraft, extensive surrounding lands, road access to the Trans-Canada corridor and deep-water port facilities close by. Few airports in the world combine all four.
Following its acquisition by Stephenville International Airport Corp., supported by BTG Capital, the airport is pursuing a long-term plan focused on infrastructure revitalization, operational growth and strategic development, working alongside local communities, Indigenous groups, government and regional businesses.
